Entering an Existing Patient Balance

This help document will show you how you can enter an existing patient balance into your In Touch Biller Pro account. This will be necessary if you have patient’s with prior balances from your existing billing system, and they still need to receive an updated statement from your clinic.

How do I enter an existing patient balance in In Touch Biller Pro?

To enter an existing patient balance in In Touch Biller Pro, first go to the patient dashboard/chart.

Patient Charges

Once on the Patient chart you will want to enter charges for the existing balance.

Click on Enter Charges at the top of the chart

 

Appointment List

If the existing balance and associated charges are associated with an appointment that you have entered into the In Touch Biller Pro system, choose from the list of appointments available by clicking on the blue Date & Time on the left hand side.

Otherwise, click on the blue Proceed to Charge Entry up at the top

 

Charge Entry

Once you arrive at the CMS 1500 Charge Entry screen, you will need to choose Enter Non-Claim Charges to enter the existing balance information.

 

Non-claim Charges

To enter the existing balance:

  1. Choose your Rendering Provider
  2. Choose your Location (optional)
  3. Click to pre-fill the date range
  4. Enter your Code *codes for all non-claim charges should be set up using your Procedure Code Panel prior to entering existing balance information**
  5. Enter the existing balance amount in the Fee box

Once you are done, scroll down and hit “Save Charges”

 

Finalized Claim

Once you have saved the patient charges, the system will create and finalize the claim and it will appear under the claim history for the patient.

Patient Accounts Receivable

You can return to the patient dashboard to view the updated Patient A/R

You can also Generate Statements right from the patient dashboard, to print and mail for payment.
