A patient chart can automatically be created during the "Eligibility Verification" process. It is very important that you register new patients in In Touch Biller Pro, and generate a patient chart number before scheduling any appointments for that patient. This will help ensure that any information (such as appointments) associated with that particular patient will be transferred correctly over to In Touch EMR.
To run Eligibility Verification for a new patient, first, click on "Eligibility Request" from the dashboard menu.
In Touch Biller Pro gives you a real-time, online eligibility verification function, which can potentially save a call to the payer to verify patient eligibility.
Step 1. Choose the "Payer" from the drop-down menu
Step 2. Enter the "Subscriber ID" information
Step 3. Click 'Submit Transaction" Note - Depending on the payer requirements, you may be asked to enter additional information to verify eligibility.
Note - Depending on the payer requirements, you may be asked to enter additional information to verify eligibility.
The patient information will appear and you can choose "Select" on the right side to view the patient's complete benefit information including co-pay, co-insurance and deductible amounts.
You can get this information for the subscribers and/or his/her dependents as well. This helps increase front desk efficiency.
Make sure to choose the proper service type in order to verify the correct benefits.
Note that some payers allow real-time eligibility verification based on service type, while others don't.
Every payer is different. If a payer offers 'service type' eligibility verification requests, then it will be available in In Touch Biller Pro. In this example: Aetna classifies Physical Therapy as "Physical Medicine".
Next, click "Submit Transaction".
You will now see the patient demographics as well as insurance benefits information.
You can create an automatic patient chart by simply clicking on "Create Chart" at the top right-hand side.
This is a unique feature of In Touch Biller Pro that will result in a significant increase in practice efficiency, by decreasing and eliminating common typing errors.
